Mark I. Conway, GRI, CRS, CFP®

For more than 42 years since he founded his company in 1967, Mark Conway has assisted clients in planning their financial futures.  Mark through his affiliation with Transamerica Financial Advisors, Inc. addresses retirement planning, estate planning, tax reduction strategies, and college funding. 

A native of North Carolina, Mark is a graduate of the College for Financial Planning entitling him to use the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER TM professional  designation.  He is a Registered Representative, Investment Advisor Representative of Transamerica Financial Advisors, Inc. and holds a principals license with that firm.  In the securities industry, he holds FINRA Series 7, 63 and 24 registrations.  He holds insurance licenses including Life/Heath, Long Term Care, Disability, Property/Casualty, and variable products.  

Mark is also a graduate of the Realtors Institute at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds the GRI (Graduate Realtors Institute) and CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designations.

Mark is married to Susan H. Conway.  Together they have five children.  They reside in Kinston.

Mark’s feelings for his clients over the years have evolved into what is now the firm’s mission statement – “Helping People Plan Their Financial Futures”.

 

Mark R. Conway “Jr.”

As part of the firm’s commitment to continuing their record of client service and to perpetuate these services, Mark R. Conway joined the firm in 1981. 

Mark R. is a graduate of East Carolina University at Greenville, North Carolina with a degree in Urban and Regional Planning.  Mark is a Registered Representative with Transamerica Financial Advisors, Inc. and holds FINRA Series 6 and 63 registrations within the securities industry.  He is licensed in all areas of insurance including:  Life/Health, Disability, and Property/Casualty.  He is also a licensed Realtor.

Mark’s wife, Jackie, is a realtor in the company’s real estate operation and they have two children, Mallory and Bec.

Mark R.’s  clients benefit from his experience and education, having worked diligently to understand their needs, he helps match individual situations with suitable strategies to help them achieve their goals.

Mark’s plans, in addition to his own client’s needs, are to carry forward the company’s services and to establish continuity for the firm’s existing clients and their next generation.

William W. (Bill) Whittington

Bill has been a financial planner and a financial advisor since 1986. He is an Investment Advisor Representative with Transamerica Financial Advisors, Inc., through which he conducts his securities business. He holds FINRA Series 7, 63 & 65 registrations. Bill is licensed in the areas of Life/Health, Disability and Long Term Care. Bill has been active in the financial services business for over 50 years -- having served as President of East Federal Savings Bank and Regional Director for First American Savings Bank prior to focusing his activities directly in the field of financial planning.

Bill is a graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in finance. As a financial planner and advisor, Bill seeks to understand client’s needs and helps provide comprehensive plans for achieving their goals with respect to education, retirement, taxes, estate and other financial objectives.

Bill and his wife, Mary, reside in Kinston, where they enjoy spending free time with their eight grandchildren.

A native of Lenoir County, Brent is a 2007 graduate of the Cameron School of Business at University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He received a degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Management. After graduation, Brent pursued business in the field of property and casualty insurance.

Brent decided he wanted to add value by offering total financial services to his clients. He then joined the family business Conway & Co. Financial Services in April 2011. He completed series 7 and 66 in June 2011.Since June 2011 Brent has been a Registered Representative and Investment Advisor Representative with Transamerica Financial Advisors, Inc. Brent also holds a Real Estate Brokers License for the state of North Carolina. He is also a licensed insurance agent in the field of Life, Health,Variable Insurance, and property and casualty.

Brittany B. Smith

Brittany is a native of Kinston and joined Conway & Co. Financial Services, Inc. in October 2006. She is a graduate of East Carolina University at Greenville, North Carolina with a BSBA in Business Administration with a concentration in Management.  Prior to joining our firm, Brittany spent 5 years in the banking and finance industry.  Brittany’s area of responsibility is on the financial & investment services side of the company. She is involved in client services and client communications.

She is married to Brian, who is an Electrical Estimator in Kinston.  Brittany and Brian have two sons, Maddox and Evan Pierce. Together they enjoy the beach, boating, and spending time with their children and their boxer, Nyla. 

J. Dowan Houston

Dowan joined Conway & Co. Insurers in 2000.  He is a native of Duplin County, Beulaville, North Carolina and a 1971 graduate of Barton College (formerly Atlantic Christian College).  Dowan has more than 30 years of marketing experience and entered the insurance field in 1996.  He is a fully licensed insurance agent and specializes in the areas of property casualty risk, including business, commercial, and personal.  

Dowan is married to Emily Colie Houston and they have one daughter, Anna.  They enjoy the coast, boating, fishing, and the mere enjoyment of being near the water.  Dowan also enjoys golf and cooking when time permits.

Scott Stroud

Scott joined Conway & Co. Insurers in February 2005.  He holds license in Property Casualty and Life & Health.  His goal is to help people find the right product and the right price for their needs.  “ To me customer service is what sells.”

Scott is married to Sheree Conway Stroud and he has two sons and a granddaughter.  He enjoys spending time at the beach.  He also loves being at home with his family, friends, and his 2 black labs.

 Jack Chatham

Jack joined Conway & Co. Insurers in January 2011, after working in sales for 25 years in Eastern North Carolina. He is licensed in Life, Health, Property and Casualty and is looking forward to helping customers with their personal and commercial insurance needs. He is a graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in Business Administration.

Jack enjoys the outdoors and spending time with family. He is marrid to Susan Page Chatham and they have one son. Susan is employed with Suddenlink Communications and their son Alec is attending Campbell University.

Sheree Conway Stroud

Mark Sr.’s daughter, Sheree, joined Conway & Co. Financial Services, Inc. in 1994.  Sheree holds all insurance licenses including:  Life/Heath, Disability, Elder Care and Property /Casualty.  She is a graduate of East Carolina University at Greenville, North Carolina with a degree in English.  Sheree is our resident computer coordinator and technology problem solver.  Sheree spends her time maintaining the data systems, assisting financial clients and is a Customer Service Representative in the Property and Casualty operation.

Sheree is married to Scott Stroud.  She enjoys the beach, playing tennis, her pets and visiting family and friends. 

Cari H. Wade

Cari was born in Livonia, MI.  She and her family moved to North Carolina in the summer of 1980.  Cari attended Lenoir Community College and East Carolina University.  She is a licensed Property & Casualty insurance agent in the state of North Carolina.  She joined our firm in 2005.

Cari has a great love of history and is a member of the Historical committee of Lenior County.

Cari has two sons and lives in Kinston. 

Katy S. Falkowski

Katy is a Lenoir County native.  She is a 2007 graduate of North Carolina State University with a BS in Business Management and a concentration in Marketing.  After living in Raleigh for 5 years, she has recently moved back to Kinston and is excited to be a part of the Conway & Co. firm.  Her areas of concentration are in Property and Casualty.

Katy enjoys spending time with her two dogs, family, and friends. ...............

Jackie J. Conway

Jackie graduated from East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina, and earned her master’s degree in Marketing.  She taught Marketing at Lenoir Community College prior to joining Coldwell Banker Conway & Co. Realtors. 

Jackie is a member of the Kinston Board of  Realtors, North Carolina Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors.  She has held numerous positions inside the Kinston Board of Realtors.  Jackie has been a multi-million dollar producer since joining the firm.  The knowledge, experience, and the programs offered through Coldwell Banker’s training programs has made working with buyers and sellers and enjoyable experience. 

Jackie is married to Mark R. Conway and they have two children.  She is very active in the local schools and her community.

Christina Lovick

Christina joined Coldwell Banker Conway & Co. Realtors several years ago.  She is a member of the Kinston Board of Realtors, North Carolina Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors.  She is a graduate of the Realtors Institute. Christina was associated with US Airways prior to entering the real estate field.  She is a consistent multi-million dollar producer and is dedicated to helping her customers find and purchase that perfect property.

She is married to Steve Lovick, who owns and operates their family restaurant as a third generation owner.  She has a son and a daughter.  She enjoys a very active life centered around her church, her work, and her children’s sports.

Norris J. King

Norris joined Coldwell Banker Conway & Co. Realtors in 1994 as a full-time real estate broker.  She is a member of the Kinston Board of Realtors, North Carolina Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors.  Prior to becoming a realtor, she helped her husband in their investment rental properties for the past 30 years.  Norris also taught school in the Kinston/Lenoir county school system for more than 20 years.  She has a BS degree and Masters degree in English education and has always enjoyed mathematics and has found this to be quite useful in her real estate career.  She has consistently been a multi-million dollar producer and has achieved national recognition in both the listing and selling of real estate. 

Norris is married to Roger King and has one son and two grandchildren.  Norris considers real estate, not a job, but rather a way of life.  Her motto is:  “I work diligently until the job is done.”

Deens Kornegay

Deens joined Coldwell Banker Conway & Co. Realtors in 2000, but has a background in real estate since 1990.  He is a member of the Kinston Board of Realtors, North Carolina Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors.  He is a graduate of the Realtors Institute.  Deens is a graduate of East Carolina University in Greenville, NC with a bachelors degree in Industrial Technology.  Deens works in all areas of real estate, but delights in helping first time home buyers and working with investment properties and tax-free exchanges of real estate. 

Deens is married with two children.  His wife, Leslie, is a teacher in the Kinston/Lenoir county school system.  Together they enjoy hunting, camping, and fishing, and all kinds of outdoor activities, with their sons, Trey and Hunter.

Diane Dillard-Meeks

Diane has been with the company for more than 35 years.  She heads up Conway & Co. Property Management Associates representing both landlords and tenants in residential and commercial renting and leasing.  She is also secretary/treasurer to our parent company, Conway & Co. Financial Services, Inc. and serves as overview bookkeeper for all of our companies. 

Diane is married to Kenny Meeks and they have one son.  She enjoys the beach, boating and spending time with friends and family.

Susan H. Conway

Susan has been with the company for many years in an administrative position.  Her areas of concentration are real estate and insurance.  She is married to Mark I. Conway and together they have five children.

She enjoys cooking, gardening, the beach, and spending time with her family and granddaughter.
